RESTORATION OF THE CHURCH OF SAN BENITO

Conference

After more than six years of waiting, since 2008, when mural paintings appeared fortuitously in the second nave of the Church of San Benito de Porcuna, restoration work began. According to the technicians, will be about four months of intensive work that will go from the cleaning, consolidation, restoration and reintegration of these murals located on the altarpiece of St. Benedict, patron of Porcuna. Thanks to the close collaboration between the Illustrious City Council of Porcuna, the Fraternities that are based in this church and the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, as a promoter, these works can be carried out with which Porcuna will enrich one of its most important historical buildings. The technicians in charge of these works will be Pilar Aragón Maza and his team of restorers, as well as the architect Pablo Manuel Millán Millán and the archaeologists Rafael Antonio Saco Montilla and Pablo Jesús Casado Millán.
