DEAMBULAR AMONG THE RUINS

On the intervention in the Roman Amphitheater of Obulco (current Porcuna).

We work, without a doubt, in one of the most complex contexts that can occur in architecture. One of the largest Roman amphitheatres in Spain recently discovered by a group of researchers (Arqvipo).

A completely buried structure that will gradually see the light.

We project an intervention that from the beginning does not have to be evident. It simply seeks to open this monumental cyclopean structure to investigate and make it known.
A slight structure is developed that allows access to visitors during the excavation period. This architecture of a temporary nature will grow parallel to the archaeological excavation.

A retaining wall, a walkway and a complex process of restoration and structural stabilization of the monument articulate the entire intervention.
